WER is sending urgently needed pharmaceutical and medical supplies to southern Lebanon.
We urgently need your support as we respond to the needs of children and their families affected by the ongoing crisis in the region.
3.4 tons of supplies are already being shipped to WER’s partner organisation Heart of Mercy, based in Amman, Jordan, for immediate distribution to local organisations working with all sectors of communities in southern Lebanon.
Heart of Mercy is a relief and development agency with substantial experience of working in Middle East crisis areas. Since 2003, Heart of Mercy and their associates, Manara, have been providing relief supplies and support into Iraq, working in Baghdad, Musol, Kirkuk and Basra areas.
This initial shipment, which is being sent by WER UK in conjunction with WER global offices, is valued at approximately £100,000 and is due to arrive in Amman by 12th August for immediate distribution to Lebanon.
WER UK is in daily contact with local partner agencies in Lebanon and Jordan as they evaluate the need for further areas of assistance.
